District Commissioner's Corner
The New Year brings hope and heightened expectations for another successful year for the Manatee District. Overall, we are a very viable and active District. Our District strengths are reflected in our growing numbers, and the well-run Camporees, Day Camp, and Family Campouts. Our active participation at Scouting for Food, the Popcorn Sales campaign, Family Fest, and Golden Eagle dinner are obvious. We continue to produce Eagle Scouts on pace and we continue to enjoy the fellowship and leadership from an army of trained adult volunteers. If you know of someone who would like to join our army of volunteers, encourage them to talk to some of our seasoned volunteers... and thank you all for what you do for Scouting!
If you want to help, we need your help. Please call or contact any of the commissioners and activity leaders mentioned on this web page to find out more, whether it be at the local Unit level or at the District staff level. If you feel uncertain, rest assured you won't be going it alone - there are plenty of experienced leaders in the District you can call on for help and advice. Right now, we especially need Unit Commissioners to watch over a few units to ensure that they remain successful and get all the help that they ask for and deserve.
Call George Maul @ 321-984-2886 to discuss the benefits of volunteering your skills and talents. It's for the boys now more than ever!
